Microsoft Windows Optimization Tools

Almost all Microsoft Windows users experience their OS runs slower and slower compare to the day 1 "freshness" right before the installation. Along the way, Windows build up unused files, registry entries (especially installation and uninstall of software), temporary files, fragmentation and etc.

From my years of experiences, I used these 3 free of charge tools to optimize my laptop and so far they work great.
  1. CCleaner
It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. Additionally it contains a fully featured registry cleaner. I select almost all options in the Cleaner's Windows and Applications section:

  2. WinASO RegDefrag
Windows Registry never shrinks even when its data is removed. Over time, the bloated registry with lots of registry holes will slow down system boot speed and affect computer performance.
WinASO RegDefrag can compact and defragment your registry to remove the registry holes and optimize the registry structure. As a result, it will boost system speed and performance as a whole.
Select Full defragmentation to have the best improvement, take note a reboot is required.

  3. Auslogics Disk Defrag
It will improve your PC's performance by defragmenting and re-arranging files on your disk.
